The new soft shadows in montage are working well!
Not only that but they are 'shaped' to images with transparency :-)
montage -background none -fill blue -font Candice -pointsize 72 label:A \
-background white -shadow -geometry +2+2 shadow_montage.gif
VERY VERY Good.
They even looks reasonable for GIF format with transparent backgrounds.
(with alpha automatically threshold at 50%)
montage rose: -frame 5 -shadow -geometry +5+5 -background none t.gif
convert t.gif -background white -flatten x:
