| Great Script!! One issue I am having though is that there seems to be
| some weird coloration issues on the corners of the frame. I am saving in PNG

I noticed the coration issues too. It is caused by slight color
differences between the edge and the corner images.
When my examples are done that will not be a problem as the corners are
generated from the edge pieces.
PS: if the edge pieces have color distortions you can average out all
the distortions by shrinking and expanding the edges.
For example assuming this frame edge is 22 pixel wide (height)
convert edge_bottom.jpg -resize 22x1\! -resize 22x50\! edge_bottom.gif
GIF would be a good format here as there will be at most 22 colors and
as they are all horizontal it will compress very well. PNG can be used
too.
This does not work for some framng images, such as though with wood
grain or other ornimatation showing. But then such framing edges need
tiling rather than stretching to expand it to the size of the image
being framed.
This is discussed in the new examples, that I am adding to IM examples
Framing using Edge Images

Though it is NOT finished yet.
