Is there any issue with Vista. I am using the latest download. What am I
doing wrong? This seems like if should be simple.
There is a dicussion on this issue at

It seems that ImageMagick 6.3.x handles wrong parameters to the delegate
mpeg2enc.exe.
I met no problems when doing this job with IM 6.2.5 on a Windows 98
machine, but trying it with IM 6.3.9 on my Vista laptop ended up in the
error metioned in the above thread.
I though think that there are better ways to do this that give you more
control over what you are really doing.
The popular VirtualDub (Open Source) does the trick, too: you have to
place all images in one folder; if you open the first one, VirtualDub
will show you a video with all of the images as the frames of that
video. You can then choose a codec (named "compression" in VitualDub)
and save it as an AVI file.
Deplorably, AVIsynth can still not write MPEG files. Anyway, the AVI
videos that AVIsynth produces will be much smaller than the MPEG-1 files
that ImageMagick creates, so give it a try.
If it must be MPEG, than you could create a lossless coded interim file
via AVIsynth and encode it to MPEG by some other program.
