First not that AI image file format is actually postscript that has been
generated in a very special way that AI itself can read and parse.
This means there are three ways you can get text/font information...
One is to convert the image to a raster and try to detect the text there.
That depends on how 'busy' the rest of the image is, and if an
appropriate filter can be figured out for such an image. An example
will be needed for use to help here.
The second is to convert the postscript into some simplier vector format
what you can discover the text information. For example a postscript to
SVG convertor. Again it will depend on just what the result will be.
Now if the AI (postscript) file was actually produced by AI (Adobe
Illistrator) then the postscript that was generated will be specific to
AI itself. This postscript may itself be parsable to determine the
font color, size and placement relativeally easilly. But only for AI
generated postscript!
What method really depend on how simple, complex, or fragile you want
the solution with regards to postsct in general or specific version of
AI.
