out. I have a few questions though (below)...

1. PATH is presumably the shell variable $PATH ?
2. What is LD_LIBRARY_PATH and how do I set it?
3. Will this be doable using your method outlined here: 
http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/api/#building 
  ?
