All,

I have FFTW 3.2.2 installed and compiled succesfully in my system. The
IM configure script recognizes and enables it. However, the build
interrupts with the following message:

/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.3/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld:
/usr/local/lib/libfftw3.a(plan-dft-r2c-2d.o): relocation R_X86_64_32
against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object;
recompile with -fPIC
/usr/local/lib/libfftw3.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [magick/libMagickCore.la] Error 1
make[1]: se sale del directorio `/usr/local/src/ImageMagick-6.5.4-3'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I reconfigured and recompiled FFTW and Imagemagick using "--with-pic"
but the result is the same.
I will appreciate if someone can give a hint on how to solve this and
build ImageMagick with FFT support.

Working on openSUSE 11.1 64 bit.

Thanks in advance
