Hi.

I have a PNG image (with a proper pHYs chunk) of dimensions
5415 x 2868 pixels, and resolution 300 dpi.

I want to resample it to 96 dpi, and convert to JPEG format.

I use the following command:
convert img.png -resample 96 -type TrueColor -depth 8 \
        -units PixelsPerInch img.jpg

However I get a resulting image having dimensions
4402 x 2331, and resolution 243 dpi.

Here 243 = 96 * 2.54, so ImageMagick is doing something strange.
Is this a bug? Or I'm using the options in the wrong way?

Note that if I specify -units PixelsPerCentimeters, ImageMagick does the
right thing, and the JPEG JFIF units parameter is set to 2.
Instead, if I specify -units PixelsPerInch, the JPEG JFIF units
parameter is set to 1.

If I do not specify -units option, ImageMagick assumes PixelsPerCentimeter.

Thanks Manlio Perillo
