Most users of my program can install ImageMagick and GhostScript on Windows and have no problems with using convert, while others are saying how PDF conversion fails. I'm thinking it may be helpful for me to tell convert where exactly GS is located at.

GS's location is noted in the Windows registry and IM looks the path up there. Find attached duc.sequere's answer to my (initial) question from 14th of November this year.

AFAIK there is no other way to tell IM where GS resides.

I would also guess that the described problems either stems from the Windows version (I had problems with Windows 2000 server) or from the PDF itself. There is a whole lot of PDFs around that don't conform to the specification.
