Hi Shanen, For patches in gerrit reviews we tend to check them out to our local test instances.
So if you wish to test you'll need to set up a git clone of Mahara and checkout the patch to that. If you need help with any of that you can take a look at https://wiki.mahara.org/index.php/Developer_Area in the Getting set up section.
