Further notes:
* Server is IMAP on Mandrake 8.2
* M allows me to change my default startup mailbox and other settings, even
while the (non-modal) Fatal Exception box is displayed. This is a good thing!
* Re-entering the Inbox causes the error to reappear consistently.
* Accessing the Inbox with mutt (on the server) cleared the error but only
temporarily; it came back as soon as I received another message.
* Accessing the same server using Outlook 2000 on the same client machine
worked.
I disabled server side threading as a workaround. M is working again and I can
access my Inbox with it.
