Hi,

good news that standard wxWindows alias wxGTK 2.4.0 now is satisfactory to
Mahogany  0.6.4 released January 2002.

after working on many dependencies mahogany has, both in W98, then in Mandrake
9.0, it may be almost there. Someday it may actually run for me. Need your
help, though.

I've had to copy in just an arbitrary file libcrypto.so.1 from
http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/redhat/8.0/i386/openssl096-0.9.6-11.i386.html
to satisfy Mahogany -- although Mandrake has openssl096 that is not part of
it.

But this file from somewhere in Mandrake still isn't satisfying mahogany,

----------
[root@ /tidings]# mahogany
mahogany: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1: invalid
ELF header
------------

Mahogany is in /usr/local/bin/mahogany but really
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           41 Mar  3 07:32 mahogany ->
../share/Mahogany/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/M*

(whereas this is a 586! )

and even if I retrieve the corresponding libssl.so.1 from the location above,
and put it into the ../share/Mahogany/i686-pc-linux-gnu/lib
or into the bin where M* is, or the directory above,
the same error recurs. It really isn't satisfactory to replace the Mandrake
one, which may be involved in lots of other things.

So -- can you supply this file or functionality please, and tell me a
private Mahogany-place to put it?

Thanks! ;-)
SC

Mahogany has a lot of good ideas, if it would just Work, ...
