The addresses seem to indicate that the crash happens in
wxMemoryFSHandler::AddFile() which is used when the splash screen is shown.
Could you please test if setting M\Profiles\ShowSplash to 0 helps?
I still don't understand what goes on however because I've tried
everything I could think of to reproduce the problem (including removing
the splash bitmap from the .rc file in which case I do get assert -- but no
crash) without success.
Just in case, I've uploaded the latest .exe and .pdb files (both inside
the same zip):
