Hi Vadim, Yesterday I tried loading Debian but it was a bit too interactive for me :-(
So, I reloaded Mandrake 9.0 which last time was misbehaving but this time, it seems to have gone on very stably. I then downloaded and tried to install the Mahogany .64 that you built but had to force install it because I could not find all the dependencies it required (libcrypto.so.1, libssl.so.1 & libpng.so.1). On an older copy of Mandrake 7.2 I had I found the libpng.so.2 so I uninstalled .s0.3 and installed .so.2. I haven't however been able to find any .rpm, I can install which provides the two .so.1 packages. all Openssl .rpm's I have loked at have so.9x or other numbers. No .so.1 :-( So, confess! What did you originally use :-) I do not want to compile out SSL. I am going to have a go at installing a development system so what tools do you recommend?
