Simply because I want to keep these files in the cvs because it's the
simplest way to ensure they're in sync between the Unix machine (where I
run latex2html) and Windows one (where I run CHM compiler to build CHM from
HTML). This is really just a dirty hack.

Sure.

Yes, we could do what we already do with MInterface.{h|cpp}.m4 files: if
you look at include/Makefile you'll see that there are extra targets for
copying them back to the source tree. This surely could be done here as
well.
