Reproducible crashes are both very important and usually easy to fix.
As for the rest, just forget it, the debug log has given me all information I
needed. This was just a bug in M, nothing wrong with your IMAP server (except
that it doesn't do server side threading and so threading folders with lots of
messages might be very slow in your case).
