 The icon disregards (and always did) unread messages anyhow, it only cares
about the new ones. The old behaviour was clearly a bug (the icon really
was never supposed to change depending on the current folder, this is quite
useless: if you are changing folders interactively you have other ways of
seeing whether they contain new messages or not, the icon is only useful
when the program is more or less in the background) and while the new one
may not be sufficiently flexible, I don't think the old one should even be
an option.

 Note that if you use the "ignore my status" checkbox in the "folder tree"
page for a given folder, it would be ignored for the icon purposes too
which is IMHO what you want.
