You need to follow the "Download debugging tools" link and install the package,
it contains dbghelp.dll. I'm sorry but I'm not sure if I'm legally allowed to
provide it myself -- I'm afraid I'm not.
As for being able to use your mail, please try to open the folder directly and
not just check its status -- does this crash as well? Also, please enable debug
logging in the last page of the preferences dialog and choose "log to file" so
that the log contents remains even in case of a crash and attach them here if
you get anything relevant.
