Hi,

Mhogany 0.63 has built and run decently since I first got it, built it,
and started using it.

When I found that 0.64 was available, I thought I would have the same
experience. It has not turned out that way.

I downloaded mahogany-0.64.tar.gz and wxGTK-2.3.3-M.tar.gz, and built
them. They built and installed without a problem.

When I executed M it started right up without a problem. Then it went to
fetch email from the pop3 mail server. It seems to fetch each email 1, 2
or even 3 times. Worse than that is that after reading an email, and
deleting it, Mahogany does not mark it as read and keeps fetching it
from the server.

Another anoyance is that mahogany will, at intervals, decide that it
needs to re-read the message headers of my inbox folder. I do not know
what triggers this behavior.

Another odd behavior is that it will not show the body of some emails
that I received. These emails seem to have a sound file within them that
is followed by an html section that is never displayed.

I then tried to write to this list for help and the compose window hung
when I tried to send the message.

On the plus side, the html viewer does seem to work well, apart from not
printing the body of some emails.

One last gripe, I thought that since 0.63 was usable for me, I would go
back to it. No such luck. 0.63 will not install over 0.64 and there is
apparently no automated way to uninstall 0.64. This leaves me with a
rudimentary email client called Balsa, which I am using to write this
email.

Ok, after all of this, I think I have three questions:
How do I uninstall 0.64 so that I can step back to 0.63?
How do I force Mahogany 0.64 to stop automatically fetching email?
Am I alone in this experience?

Thanks in advance,
Al Votolato
