I think you could make a case for it in light of MAHOUT-6. Perhaps a
demonstration of implementing one of the algorithms using it would be
useful, or something simpler like a PageRank style iterative
implementation.
I think, as I said before, I don't personally have much use for the
Groovy side of things. I personally don't have interest in
maintaining Groovy code, but that's not to say others don't have that
interest. My goal is pure, simple Java with as few dependencies as
possible. In my opinion, this will speed adoption and make things
easier for our users. So, if Hama can deliver on that, I think it is
worth investigating.
