Having looked at Daniels work from last years GSOC where he created a nice recommendation module (in Drupal) I'm not sure how much mentoring he needs on the Drupal side of things.
Having said that using Mahout with Drupal for both Recommendation and Classification is one of the projects that I am looking at for one of my clients this year so I am quite happy to help out (on the Drupal side as my Mahout skills are still evolving) in this area.
