Hi, I'm sure this is a common question regarding LDA. I have a 100k documents Lucene index and i'd like to extract a hierarchical structure of the topics and subtopics that describe the content of the index. The idea is to start by extracting the topics with LDA but what makes me curious is of course that the number of topics has to be decided in advance. The documents span different topics and i don't know in advance (and would LOVE to avoid it) their number. Do you have any advice on a strategy to follow?
