On Jan 10, 2001, WPAA President Dr. Ashwini Kumar visited Pantnagar as part of his India trip. The main objective of his visit was to meet Vice-Chancellor, Deans, students and also, to hand over the 'Fund Drive' contribution to Department of Computer Engineering, College of Technology. Though the contribution amount could not be delivered due to lack of some legal paperwork, the overall trip proved to be very fruitful as Ashwini got an opportunity to meet quite a few people there and discussed with them about various options of how the university and WPAA could work together. You might find it interesting to know that WPAA Vice-President Dr. Piyush Singh is presently in India on a visit and would be visiting Pantnagar to follow-up on Ashwini's leads. Piyush's visit could not have come at a better time. We are very hopeful that his visit would help us accomplish the long overdue task of delivering the collection amount to the Computer Engineering department. We will keep you posted as and when there is any progress in this regard. Folks, as you all might know that we have a minimal membership fee for the association. This fee helps us take care of all its maintenance expenses and also in planning projects for the benefit of Pantnagar students and our alma mater.
