As we draw closer to the festival season with Diwali, Dussehra and New Year almost
here, WPAA activities appear to be gaining the momentum too. Last month was yet
another busy month wherein quite a few upcoming events were planned and some
interesting projects initiated. So, without much ado, here are the details:

Another important item for this newsletter is 'WPAA Yearbook 2002' project. Thanks to
Somya Chaudhary, Home Science, 1987 batch, who was kind enough to accept this
responsibility of leading this project and putting it all together. If everything goes
as per the plan, you should have a copy in your mailbox sometime in January, 2003.

As you might already be aware that GBPUAT has an official web site now. Please visit

Even though the PayPal system has been in place for a while and the same is being
mentioned in every month's newsletter, it still has not reached the expected
popularity amongst the members. Please use this system, available at
http://www.wpaa.org/ and send in your annual membership fee and contributions. For

Here are the main tasks that WPAA is/was working on:
*** Fund Drive ***
A sum of USD 3000 was collected for Computer Engineering Department, College of
Technology, during a 'Fund Drive' that lasted almost two years. The funds were
delivered to the then Vice-Chancellor, Dr. J. B Chowdhury in Feb, 2002. Head of
Computer Engineering Department, Prof. R N Mishra later informed us via an email that
a decision had been made to purchase a LCD projector for the department.
WPAA would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed towards
this Fund Drive' and helped it make a success.
*** WPAA Chapters ***
If you are a Coordinator of a WPAA chapter, a member of another Pantnagar association

*** WPAA Quiz ***
Tarun Sharma won the first quiz scoring 100%. There were 28 responses with an average
score of 65.36%. Pretty impressive, Tarun. Congratulations !!!
The second quiz is up for grabs. So far, there are 28 responses with an average score
