Worldwide Pantnagar Alumni Association (WPAA)
Monthly Newsletter, December 9, 2002
------------------------------------------------
Greetings !

Hope you all are having a great festival season and are looking forward to a wonderful
and prosperous New Year. WPAA would like to wish you all the success and best of
health for this festival season.

As 2002 winds down, there are some important administrative issues that we would like
you to be aware of.

- WPAA Election 2003: As I had mentioned in the last newsletter also, we need to
encourage more and more participation and more importantly, need to establish the
process of electing office bearers on a yearly basis. If you are interested in being
part of WPAA Executive Committee, or know someone who you think should be, please send
details to 'executives at wpaa dot org'. There is no change in the structure of the
committee and all the posts and designations are same as the current ones, including
'Representatives'. WPAA bylaws are also available online so that you can make yourself
familiar with the existing setup. I would like to encourage all of you to get actively
involved in the process and help us stay focused in our endeavor.

Annual Membership Fee and Contributions: WPAA would like to take this opportunity to
thank all those who were kind enough to submit their membership fee and contributions
for 2002. We greatly appreciate your continued support and encouragement and request
you to please make sure that your payments are all accounted for in WPAA account book.
In case of any questions, please feel free to write to 'treasurer at wpaa dot org'.

Yearbook 2002 - Another important project that I would request your active
participation in is 'WPAA Yearbook 2002'. Thanks to Somya Chaudhary, Home Science,
1987 batch, who was kind enough to accept this responsibility of leading this project
and putting it all together. If everything goes as per the plan, you should have a
copy in your mailbox sometime in January, 2003. Please visit the WPAA home page to
check out the complete details and exact schedule. Also, feel free to write to her at
'yb2002 at wpaa dot org' if you have any suggestions, comments or feedback.

Well, getting back to regular fun activities, last month was yet another busy month.
WPAA - Hyderabad chapter organized a get-together on Nov 24 at Country Club, Begumpet.
About 60 people showed up and it was a great success. Please visit

went through. Also, some pictures of the same would be greatly appreciated.

Even though the PayPal system has been in place for a while and the same is being
mentioned in every month's newsletter, it still has not reached the expected
popularity amongst the members. Please use this system, available at

Here are the tasks that WPAA has closely been involved in:

*** Fund Drive ***
A sum of USD 3000 was collected for Computer Engineering Department, College of
Technology, during a 'Fund Drive' that lasted almost two years. The funds were
delivered to the then Vice-Chancellor, Dr. J. B Chowdhury in Feb, 2002. Head of
Computer Engineering Department, Prof. R N Mishra later informed us via an email that
a decision had been made to purchase a LCD projector for the department.

WPAA would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed towards
this Fund Drive' and helped it make a success.

*** WPAA Chapters ***
If you are a Coordinator of a WPAA chapter, a member of another Pantnagar association
or know about one, please log your entry here and share it with rest of us. Also, do
let us know if you need to setup a separate web page, chat room, mailing-list or any
other such web presence for your chapter.
