Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: mail delivery Group: 2.1 (stable) Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Paul Pogonyshev (doublep) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: difficult to discard spam postings via e-mail Initial Comment: In notifications about spam-posting to my project's mailing list, this is written: If you reply to this message, keeping the Subject: header intact, Mailman will discard the held message. Do this if the message is spam. If you reply to this message and include an Approved: header with the list password in it, the message will be approved for posting to the list. The Approved: header can also appear in the first line of the body of the reply. Natural reflex is to hit R (reply) to reply to the whole message. This doesn't work... This text comes in an encapsulated message and it is difficult to reply to an encapsulated message (at least in KMail: you need to right-click "encapsulated message" text, choose view, then reply, and then close the view window.) It would be simpler if just replying to the message you get worked for discarding spam, without all the additional moves. (I posted this to Savane first, but they redirected me here.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100103&aid=1603400&group_id=103 _______________________________________________ Mailman-coders mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-coders
