Remove the password protection, and if you're not-authenticated as a subscriber to that list, all e-mail addresses are removed. If you are, you get the unedited message. Whether you do this by putting all access to a directory structure behind a CGI, or whether you load it into a database, I'm not sure yet. The former would likely be less massive in the infrastructure.
