Mailman already tries to be very careful about when and how it auto-responds to unsolicited queries. We're probably not doing the best job we can here, so my plan is to build in a more general "governor" subsystem and route all autoresponses through that. I agree that we need to be very very careful about the balance between helpfulness and spamminess. - -Barry -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (Darwin) iQCVAwUBRU+DrHEjvBPtnXfVAQLswwQAh1FIRetkBya1LqNvro+99+5a0e4L2v/l ZN3Jwkg+XaJ6cB1jxrdcvtaRHTJAt0wbxYFg8S+drkMGHhn+5+8peQ1aWGAdhOVX NKt3nCXY3wpTCAgBSqGgCbgozV+AB6rfmUiPaCeyk4ehAP+jrBgEHmgJZbGj3ECt QSvCvHdKw1U= =yAiE -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Mailman-Developers mailing list Mailman-Developers@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-developers Mailman FAQ: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py Searchable Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/mailman-developers%40python.org/ Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/mailman-developers/archive%40jab.org Security Policy: http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq01.027.htp
