As a side-note, especially to those who are using screen readers: What is
your experience regarding the use of JavaScript in current screen readers? Is

been some improvement?

Most Javascript works fine, as long as it doesn't do unorthodox things in unorthodox ways, javascript should work with screen readers. After all, most web sites use it to one extent or another.
