There is no specific warmup task for any project, we just encourage you
to choose one issue from the issue tracker of the projects and solve
that. Also, you can follow up on the ongoing discussion of this project
with another interest student on -developers (this) list, it will give
you a very good idea about how to get started in this project.

I don't think it would be an issue you want reviews on your proposal
before the actual submission deadline.
