To potential GSoC Contributors: Please keep discussion on this list.
We very much appreciate your interest in GNU Mailman in Google Summer of Code, and we're doing the best we can to respond to your needs. But please understand that we have other lives and right now our time is limited for reasons beyond our control, just as many of you will have exams to take and weddings to attend[1] (only rarely your own but that happens, too!) during the coding period. Also, writing mentors privately at this stage *hurts your reputation*. Whether intentional or not, we perceive it as an attempt to get an advantage over other potential contributors.[2] It's fair that you draw attention to your MRs, but please do it on this list. Steve Org Admin, GNU Mailman Project Footnotes: [1] Mostly not too bad, but if you're family or participating, and especially some cultures, it can take a week or so out of your summer. [2] The exception is if you've already drafted a detailed proposal. It's fair if you don't want that in public, as Google doesn't expose even titles (except to mentors) until they are accepted. We don't promise to provide detailed feedback until the submission period opens, however. -- GNU Mailman consultant (installation, migration, customization) Sirius Open Source https://www.siriusopensource.com/ Software systems consulting in Europe, North America, and Japan _______________________________________________ Mailman-Developers mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] https://mail.python.org/mailman3/lists/mailman-developers.python.org/ Mailman FAQ: https://wiki.list.org/x/AgA3 Security Policy: https://wiki.list.org/x/QIA9
