hello,
i host about 30 mailing lists (about 4000 subscribers). its been running great for the last 3 or so years. currently i am running mailman-2.0.5 on freebsd 4.5-STABLE. so at the beginning of every month, all the admins have to sift through reject messages from people who are still subscribed but are over quota, etc. on my system there are several admins who admin more than one list, so they tend to get a lot of these. the problem: one (only one) admin sends me bounces she recieves that are destined for the admin of other lists. let me clarify with an example: - she admins [EMAIL PROTECTED] - she gets all sorts of reject messages for [EMAIL PROTECTED] (normal) - she gets a reject message for [EMAIL PROTECTED] (a list that she has no affiliation to) like this (username changed for anonymity): (note the To: address at the top of the email and the listname at the bottom, why dont they match?) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 5:03 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Returned Mail - Error During Delivery ------ Failed Recipients ------ <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable. It includes your subscription info and how to use it to change it or unsubscribe from a list. You can visit the URLs to change your membership status or configuration, including unsubscribing, setting digest-style delivery or disabling delivery altogether (e.g., for a vacation), and so on. In addition to the URL interfaces, you can also use email to make such changes. For more info, send a message to the '-request' address of the list (for example, [EMAIL PROTECTED]) containing just the word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to you with instructions. If you have questions, problems, comments, etc, send them to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks!
