that would be bad, but i planned to check if this acronym already exists.
anyway, after some more brainstorming i decided to through away the hole
workaround and simply warn people in README.mailman at the debian package.
for my personal problem, the longest list is 32 chars long, exactly the
limit that lurker has set ;)

so, thanks anyway, and remember me for the moment you get a brainstorm
about how to to create (and find) unique ids.
