Thanks Jim for you reply. So if a new list is created by anyone other than me, I have no way of knowing about it so I can change the aliases file? I am still puzzled by what the README file says - "... you'll need to do the extra step of installing the mailing list aliases manually. Follow the instructions in an email message that you should have received." I now assume (let me know if I am on the right track here) that the email referred to there is the one sent to the new list-owner. But even in that message, there is no mention of any aliases.
