What that part of the FAQ is referring to is under the Membership Management portion of the list administration page. Clicking on that link should bring you to a page with a table of all of your subscribers whose addresses start with an 'a'. At the bottom of the page is an option to "Set everyone's moderation bit, including those members not currently visible" - select 'On' and then click the 'Set' button, then find your address and turn the mod bit Off.
Hope this helps,
jim

Hi,
Firstly, my apology to the list that I posted the question before going through FAQ thoroughly.
Since the version of my Mailman is 2.1.4, I have followed "How to do it in Mailman 2.1" section of the FAQ. In this section, I could not understand the last para of this section. Can some one in the list give me some pointers on this?
Thanks,
Damar

I am planning to use mailman simply to inform the website update to the members, so that the members should not be able to send mail to the list address.
Can I do this?
yes
