You could probably configure postfix to use a different local delivery agent, one that was configured to munge all addresses appropriately, before handling as would previously have been done.


Regardless how you do it, you've got a fair amount of program writing to do.

 As I said, that would be good but is utterly out of the question.  The
 people in charge of all the mail infrastructure will never do that.

Then you may well be permanently screwed, depending on how much damage their servers cause to the e-mail addresses in question.
