Problem is, runaway Python processes are something that I believe 2.1.5 was created to help address.
I guess you could do a diff on the source code to see what changed between 2.1.4 and 2.1.5 and figure out which piece of code might be related to the runaway process issue, then back-port those changes to your local 2.0.x installation. But that would be a hell of a lot of work.
