It doesn't matter what the envelope sender address is for the bounce. What matters is the format of the bounce itself. If the remote MTA rejected the connection without accepting the message, then it would be up to the local MTA to deal with the bounce, which might avoid this problem entirely.


        Otherwise, everything comes down to the format of the bounce message.
