Hope that helps to explain why an administrative email interface can be useful.
There's no question that an e-mail interface can be useful. The value of this was recognized a long time ago. Mailman does already include an e-mail interface.
The original question was how could the admin for a list use the e-mail interface to outright unsubscribe someone, without generating a confirmation notice, even if the list was configured to normally require confirmation.
This is a question to which I do not know the answer.
