That sounds like a web server MIME type issue, in that the web server 
is not telling the web client the appropriate information regarding 
the actual type of content of the file, and the web client is then 
displaying that information in a manner that doesn't make a whole lot 
of sense.

If so, then this would not be a Mailman-related issue, and I don't 
think we can help you.  You would need to use the documentation, 
FAQs, support mailing lists, etc... that are appropriate for your web 
server.
