Even if you did paste it into the web create UI, Mailman wouldn't accept it. Perhaps the most important reason why not, is that the list name is the local part of the list posting address and per RFC 2821, an email address MUST NOT contain characters outside the printable us-ascii (decimal 32-126) range. <quote> Systems MUST NOT define mailboxes in such a way as to require the use in SMTP of non-ASCII characters (octets with the high order bit set to one) or ASCII "control characters" (decimal value 0-31 and 127).
