This feature has been implemented for what is now Mailman 3.0. I intend
to backport it to Mailman 2.2 and possibly to 2.1.10.

There is a patch for the 2.1.8 base at
<http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=403066&group_id=103&atid=350103>.
This should not be hard to apply to 2.1.9.
