You could experiment with setting ARCHIVE_HTML_SANITIZER = 2 in mm_cfg.py and restarting Mailman. This will leave the text/html parts in the (plain) digest, but since they will just be pieces of the text/plain digest, you will see source html text, not rendered html, but it won't be 'prettied' with <tt> tags, <br> tags, tab expansion, and spaces replaced with .
