Frankly, using ANY mailing list to do this simple task is overkill. You can have gmail filter and forward these emails instead. They go to *your* gmail account, the filter matches it and forwards it to your wife's email account.
You can set up a single filter based on a "TO" address. This is the address that you give to the schools, etc. This email address could be boardtc+w...@gmail.com as anything after + in a gmail account is automatically sent to the username before the +. Set the filter to automatically forward anything to that address and you're good to go.
