If the server uses one of these (for example when using webmail) then
you should use that in MailMate as well. Select the IMAP mailbox and
then use “Mailbox ▸ Mailbox Type ▸ Sent Messages”. You can then
move the emails in the other IMAP folders and delete them.
(It is possible that the server tells MailMate which one to use and if
it does then that's what happens by default. Otherwise, MailMate simply
makes a guess or creates “Sent Messages”.)
Note that you might be using other email clients, e.g., on iOS, which
have their own preference. These are likely also configurable.
