Hi Alain,
This differ from the behaviour that I'm describing since you are
not using my commands, but the standard MailMate paste action (Cmd+v).
To use mine you should select it from the menubar at "Command -> Paste
(Extra) -> select the action that you want) or use the shortcut that I
set (Cmd+Alt+Shift+V pr Cmd+Ctrl+Shift+V), but the shortcuts doesn't
seem to work great on my side, so you may prefer to set them from the
macOS standard shortcuts preference or change them in the Bundle

I have installed the bundle, re-started Mailmate, and unexpectedly I
don’t need any new keyboard shortcut : when I paste (command-V) a
text form MS Word, it now appears as plain text, which is perfect for
me, but seems to differ from the behaviour you describe.

Hi all,
To give some more solutions... you can also use a text expansion
utility for that (Typinator, aText, TextExpander, Alfred, ...). For
example, I'm using Typinator and by typing 'vv' I'm getting my
clipboard in plain text.
However, if you prefer to simply use MailMate, I've built a Bundle
that should do the same thing as those applications, but invoked
directly from MailMate.
You can download it here:

I have created two commands:
1. **Paste as plain text**: Which change your clipboard content to
plain text and paste it to the front window
2. **Paste by typing**: Same thing, but doesn't change the content of
the clipboard, it will type it as if you manually type the content
While creating them, I have added some keyboard shortcuts, but I'm
not sure if it's a bug from MailMate, but on my side they are only
invoked if I open the "Command > Paste (Extra)" menu item... If
anyone tries it, maybe you can get back and let me know if the
shortcuts work correctly on your side

If you use Alfred (a great replacement for Spotlight
… among *many* others features)
, it also manages your clipboard for you and allows you to paste
very easily without formatting. You use option-command C to pull up
Alfred’s clipboard list, and then select which of your recent
clipboard items you want to paste, and hit enter.
Or you set up a hotkey to "paste as plain text" as shown here:

The downside is, you need to buy the "Powerpack" (£29 ≈ €33 ≈
US$40) in order to use this functions.
In my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it but I think this should be
mentioned.
(I assure you I’m in no way connected to the vendors of the
application, nor do I receive any benefits for praising it, I’m
just a satisfied user.)
Regards,
Tobias
