It's not unlikely that I broke this feature at some point, but it was not intentional. (I'm not sure how often this feature is used by MailMate users.) The best you can do is to send me an example using “Help > Send Feedback” (drag the example into the email to attach it) -- if you have one you can share. Then I can see if it works for me and if it doesn't then I can look into why. I'm currently working on related code (encrypting/decrypting messages) in an attempt to make MailMate better at handling these types of tasks asynchronically.
