I wonder if the jump in DNS traffic was due to all the websites out there that have Facebook analytics tracking or other Facebook widgets installed. Then add-in all the mobile devices that have the Facebook app and other apps that include Facebook tracking. All that combined would be a lot of clients trying to resolve Facebook.com.
