Yes, Google Apps accounts are fully supported. There is one exception
though: If you university has a custom authentication scheme, then Mailplane
can't ask Google to verify the user name and password.
However, there is a workaround you may want to try:

You need the 2.1-beta for this work: http://mailplaneapp.com/download/beta
Limitation: There is no automatic sign-in for the accounts listed in
SAMLAccounts.

Open Terminal and enter this one line and press ENTER
defaults write com.mailplaneapp.Mailplane SAMLAccounts "
[email protected]"
If you have more than account to set, separate them with a comma:
defaults write com.mailplaneapp.Mailplane SAMLAccounts "[email protected],
[email protected]"
