I've never liked the label search method in gmail.
I prefer to use reasonably lengthy descriptive labels, and the
autocomplete part of "Move to", and "Labels" allows me to do it quite
easily.
But searching for multiple labels requires "l:<full label name>
l:<full label name> etc.." and typos aren't allowed!

If Mailplane could do autocompletes internally, and pass the
parameters off to the search box, it would be awesome.
Something like tab could move to the next search parameter.
e.g.
– Command-/ brings up "Mailplane search"
– Type a few characters, list portion of dialog is narrowed just like
when labeling..
– Select label via arrow keys
– Type tab to select that label, and move to next label or term
– Finalize search with return, deliver search string to the gmail
interface.

Just a notion.
I use a series of tags starting with client names to indicate
projects. If I could add an active tag to them, and easily search a
combo of project + active, instead of creating
"client_project_active", and "client_project_archive", it might be
nice.
