To get the button you need to turn on the "Inserting Images" lab feature
(go to *Gmail > Settings > Lab *and search the list for "Inserting Images").

   1. Enable the "Inserting Images" lab feature
   2. Compose a new message
   3. Click the "Insert Image" icon in the rich text toolbar
   4. Drag and drop a few pictures to you message or take a screenshot
   5. Select image and press the "Insert Image" button.
